Please note that the Heat Deflector will be extremely hot when in use. Do not touch any part of the device, and ensure children are under constant parental supervision when the fire pit and Heat Deflector are in operation. Always treat the Heat Deflector as you would an open flame.
To cool the Heat Deflector, allow it to cool naturally and completely before attempting to move any component of the setup. Use heat-resistant gloves when removing the Heat Deflector from the cooling fire pit and place it in a safe location to finish cooling down.
Maintenance is minimal, with cleaning sessions required only occasionally. We recommend polishing the surfaces with Barkeeper's Friend and a dry cloth, ensuring the Heat Deflector is completely dry before storing to prevent surface rust.
The Mesa XL Heat Deflector is designed to provide optimal heat distribution when used in calm conditions and at a normal table height.
